Traffic and safety along Highway 29 in Liberty Hill are major concerns, but the solutions for safety and economic growth don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Instead of sacrificing local businesses to route traffic via a proposed bypass, we want Williamson County to invest in the improvement of our community’s safety and economic growth.
In the most recent bond measure, the county excluded almost all of the city of Liberty Hill’s proposals to improve traffic and safety. They instead allocated millions of dollars to acquire land to build their eight-lane toll way to bypass Liberty Hill’s small businesses.
With most of the growth centered to the north and east of the city, this bypass will do nothing to aid in the current safety issues on Highway 29. This bypass will only result in the closure of small businesses and decreased property values in downtown and on Highway 29; a complete destruction of the local economy.
As a result of the falling sales tax and property values, Liberty Hill’s city budget will be decimated by a significant decrease in tax revenues. This will result in less funding for police safety, community events, and the revitalization of historical downtown.
Don’t let the county bypass Liberty Hill!
Instead of killing jobs, ask Williamson County to improve existing infrastructure that also benefits our local entrepreneurs instead of destroying the local economy.
